Jun 25, 2012Interested in visiting that new art exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery or that classical music concert, but have a young child who may be less keen? You and baby should join Culture Babes once a month for a museum tour or musical concert, in and around Vancouver! Geared towards creating an enriching experience for both parents and children, each event will be the perfect chance to do something a little different.
Duo Romantic at Shadbolt Centre - July 8
We are now selling tickets for our next concert on 8 July for Duo Romantic, at 1:30pm at the Shadbolt Centre, Burnaby. We are very lucky to have two esteemed classical musicians performing, Stanton Jack, a guitarist, along with flautist, Shannon Rowe. They will be performing a program of early 20th-century music from Portugal, Cuba, Mexico, and Brazil. Kids love watching musicians perform live, and we parents get to enjoy a little classical music! The setting is very informal, and it can get a bit noisy at times, but the tots are happy to crawl on the floor mats and soak up the beautiful music. If the weather is lovely (and we hope it is!) plan for a walk around Deer Lake before or after the concert. The Shadbolt Centre has ample free parking and is easily accessible on the 123 bus from Metrotown skytrain. Ticket prices for the concert are one adult for $20 and two for $30. Kids are free and all (grandparents, etc) are very welcome!
