221A is pleased to host a talk by artist Erdem Taşdelen in conjunction with What a Drag, a solo exhibition of new work by Taşdelen that examines the role of language in the making of subjectivity. The exhibition continues at 221A until July 22, 2012.
Erdem Taşdelen grew up in Switzerland, Germany and Turkey. He received his BA in Visual Arts and Communication Design from Sabanci University in Istanbul in 2007, and his MAA in Visual Arts from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver in 2010. He continues to live in Vancouver and teaches at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. His artistic practice involves an interrogation of subjectivity and its manifestations, often resulting in works on paper, sculpture and time based media.
