The Storyboard Label presents new works by Vancouver-based artists Roland Meyer, Kari Kleinmann, and Scott Lewis. The exhibition delves into questions of politics, identity, and religion. A cynically morose tone lingers closely overhead as the artists struggle to find clarity in a foggy landscape.
'It's All Around You' presents a feeling of contemplation and solitude. It is the ocean that surrounds you as you drift away from land and the realization of self takes hold. Each artist, in his or her own way, has created a space of quiet contemplation. Initially embarking on different paths with unique intentions, the end results arrive in a similar atmospheric space. Whether the work strives to invoke empathy in the viewer through representations of identity, politics, or in its formal attributes, ultimately itâs a journey one takes slowly and individually.
