Howie Tsui: Manga and Mongrels

Born in Hong Kong in 1978 and having moved to Thunder Bay at a young age, Howie Tsui knows something about cultural hybridity and the coalescence of different visual languages. In his provocative drawings we see the a re-arrangement of fable, family history and popular culture. Tsui's work has been exhibited at the Carelton University Art Gallery, the Ottawa Art Gallery and most recently as part of the "Monster" exhibition at the West Vancouver Museum, reviewed here in Canadian Art.
